The Lotus Le Mans Team Just Got Seized

Lotus' Le Mans LMP2 program just got some of their suspension pieces, steering wheels, and other components seized by a court over alleged financial issues.P

Auto Hebdo reports that the seizure came from a local court and Speed stated the cause was "allegedly not having met its financial commitments to an undisclosed partner."P

A flatbed trailer showed up at the LMP2 team's garage this evening, and the German-run Lotus team dismantled their cars and loaded up the seized parts.P

UPDATE (11:25 a.m.): A team statement is expected to be released in the next few hours. The cars, stripped of suspension components and gearboxes, remain in the garage. A team spokesperson says a court hearing is expected today.

Lotus LMP2's participation in this year's 24 Hours of Le Mans appears to be in jeopardy, as both new Lotus T128s were reportedly seized by a local court over alleged financial issues.

French publication Auto Hebdo reports a court decision was made today in Le Mans to seize the two LMP2 entries due to the Kodewa squad allegedly not having met its financial commitments to an undisclosed partner, which filed motion in court this morning.

Eyewitnesses late this evening at the circuit reported the German team dismantling both cars, including the gearboxes and suspension components, which were then placed on a flat-bed hauler for transport out of the circuit.

Details still remain unclear at the moment but a team statement is expected to be issued tomorrow.

The two Lotus LMP2 cars are due to be driven by James Rossiter, Kevin Weeda, Christophe Bouchut (No. 31) and Thomas Holzer, Dominik Kraihamer and Jan Charouz (No. 32).

The Adess AG-designed entries made their debut in April's FIA World Endurance Championship season opener at Silverstone.

Niet echt een uitslag om blij van te worden, hoewel er toch wat leuke gevechten te zien waren en de race zelf best aardig was.
