Elise S3 at Geneva Motorshow ?

Op Lotus-Central staat een bericht met een eerder 'vreemde' titel;

Well, it seems the time is almost here! If you want to catch a first glimpse of the new Elise S3 you'll need to set your alarm early on the morning of Tuesday 2 March, for that's when we are led to believe Lotus will take the wraps off the eagerly awaited new car - they have an 08.45am slot (that's 07.45 in UK/Portugal) booked for a press event on the opening Press-only day of the Geneva Motor Show.

Naturally details are sketchy at the moment but we are led to believe that Elise S3, or Project Anglesey as it is known internally, will once again be Toyota powered although with stocks of the now-obsolete 1.8-litre running down, alternative 1.6- and 2.0-litre units from the same source will be phased-in by the end of 2010. On the face of it even the 2.0-litre engine would appear to be less powerful than the existing unit according to Toyota figures, bear in mind that Toyota have given Lotus a free hand in re-mapping engines, so presumably that arrangement would continue.

If you want to see the car in real life, Geneva Motor Show is an easy day trip by air from England, the Palexpo Exhibition Centre being a mere 10 minutes walk from the airport terminal building - you don't even need a bus! If you're really in a hurry, you'll find Lotus on stand 1259 in Hall 1. Volgens het artikel moet dit een upgrade zijn van de bestaande S2 aangepast aan de lijnen van de Evora en een ander motorpallet ( 1x een 1600 CC !! ).
Zou dit dan effectief de nieuwe S3 zijn ???? Ik moet toch even wennen ....

YEP is een facelift van de S2 ... dus NIET de S3

Ik moet er ook aan wennen eerlijk gezegd, maar ik wacht af toe ik 'm gezien heb "in real life".

Snap niet goed waarom eigenlijk ...

Ik denk dat er een foutje gebeurd is @ Group Lotus, nog geen persmededeling te bespeuren (ik krijg die altijd binnen) maar op hun media-centre site staan reeds alle foto's

Zo heb ik een 'licht' vermoeden dat de Elise nog niet mocht getoond worden.

de 1.6 motor met 6 versnellingen is in feite het grote nieuws... 4 % minder luchtweerstand en waarschijnlijk ook een lichtere minder wegende motor , dit te samen zullen de prestaties wel niet beinvloeden.... integendeel waarschijnlijk... een paar extra onnodige gadgets zoals cruise controll zijn verkrijgbaar...
