Ultimate Lotus Elise?

The use of Carbon Fibre in lightweight sports cars, both as a weight saving feature and for aesthetic reasons, has become extremely popular in recent times. The material adorns some of the most expensive luxury vehicles on the market, such as the Koenigsegg CCXR and Pagani Zonda F. However the downside to caking your car in the lighweight material is the cost. This 2002 Type 72 JPS special Lotus Elise highlights where the line probably lies.

The owner, Jimmy Wong, took the car to TW Auto Limited of Hong Kong, China who took 6 months to build the custom exterior and interior panels in raw Carbon Fibre. We have to admit, it looks great and saves 30-40 kg (66-88 lbs) on the standard car, however we hate to imagine how much a build like this will have cost. Therefore we agree with Jalopnik in questioning whether it was worth it.

Other modifications undertaken on the car include KW Suspension and a set of JP Racing Wheels. A Lotus Racing Exhaust and a new Air filter with a larger intake. It’s surely the ultimate Lotus Elise, the question is… Carbon Fibre or Diamonds??

Mooi!!! Maar onbetaalbaar, ik zou er niet meer mee durven buiten komen denk ik.

En hopelijk is het carbon achteraf goed behandeld, want anders wordt dat zo groen als het maar kan zijn Er ligt hier een JPS monocoque 95T dus van in den tijd dat ze dat nog niet wisten bij Lotus, zo groen als het maar kan zijn.

er staat er zo eentje te koop op ebay, Mk2 Elise volledig in Carbon. Was ook uitgerust met een turbo motor.
