I took part in this last year and it was a fantastic 2 days with great company, great food, great hotels oh and an experience of both the F1 and Nordschleife that I will never forget. The highlight for me was my taxi lap in the Evora with Roger Becker at the wheel. A well organised event!

I'm writing to let you know that we're currently in final talks with the hotels & caterers for the event as well as the Nurburgring.

We have our dates set as 29th and 30th of September 2010.

We are planning to have a half day on the F1 circuit (1pm to 6pm) and the same half day on the Nordschleife as last year (8am to 1pm), as well as food, trackwalk and this time an end of event BBQ too.

The good news is that both track sessions will be 'noisy' this year, that means a limit that will be 105dB drive-by minimum. The management are actually talking about a higher limit during 'business hours'. But I'm sure 105 dB will be more than enough for 99% of us.

Obviously the extras all add up... and the price this year will likely be €549 per entry. I'm pretty happy that it's only a €50 increase for a proper 'noisy' 5-hour session on the circuit. More time on the Nordschleife would have been nice, as would a Thursday-Friday combo instead - but I'll take what I can get right now!

Some other stuff you might want to know:

• Lotus Cars will be attending, maybe in an increased capacity
• We will have another 6 exiges for any customers who can't bring their own cars
• We hope to be offering taxi laps in our own 2-Eleven... that'll be a 7 minute lap for anybody brave enough to hop in.

Sadly the dates don't suit me.
Last year there were 72 Lotus cars, mainly Elise, Exige, a couple of Europa S and 340r's and one 2-11 but no Esprit's.
Oh and a factory Evora.

So, to the details!

What is it?
10 hours on track split over 2 days.
Day1: 1pm to 6pm NOISY (105dB) 5km F1 circuit
Day2: 7.30am to 12.45am NOISY (105dB) 21km Nordschleife

What else?
Nordschleife Trackwalk - we take busses on to the circuit and give you expert tuition as we walk through the difficult sections
A meal and some booze - we're torn between a BBQ and kegs vs buffet and taps, but expect something along those lines. VEGGIE OPTIONS INCLUDED THIS TIME
A night's accommodation at the 'Ring...

What's the accommodation?
Packages come in four flavours and prices this year:

€549 - Bronze (100 places): Staying at the new Holiday village in Drees (about 3 minutes drive from the circuit entrance). These are like Butlins in theory, but really, really posh! You stay in 3-bedroom houses with 5 beds and a fully-fitted kitchen. It's self-catering, but there's a breakfast bar and canteen on site. You also have FREE access to many of the Spa and health programmes. There is a creche, BBQ huts, and more... if you want to bring the family for a week, then you could alsoask me for a price for a whole house for 3 days...

€575 - Silver (only 20 places!): Staying at the 3* Lindner, opposite the Eifel Dorf disco. You'll be two to a room and walking distance from the GP track. This includes breakfast and is only €25 more than the previous package. We expect these to sell out fast! First come, first served.

€649 - Gold (only 20 places!): Same as above, but you have the room to yourself. No sharing. Again, these will go fast. Couples wanting to share a room can both select Silver. It's the same thing.

€675 - Platinum: Same as above, but now you're in the very posh and spanky 4-star Motorsports congress hotel. Note that you're guest can share this twin room with you at a very decent cost.

All drivers and guests will automatically be partnered together. If you want to know more about anything, please don't hesitate to get in touch!

ik wil wel ns gaan zien, deelnemen lijkt me minder ...

Na ons onverwacht tripje naar de Ring gisteren, om een stel inventive Noren te ontmoeten, zijn we weer laaiend enthousiast over de "Groene Hel". Ongelofelijk hoe mooi dat parcours toch is.
De mensen van RSR kwamen ons tegemoet op de Nordschleife, we werden ook zeer vriendelijk uitgenodigd, om wat Ring laps in de lounge te bekijken en een half litertje achter te slagen. Wij waren zeer onder de indruk van hun garage, het aantal Exiges dat er staan en van de professionaliteit die zij aan de dag leggen. Daarom nog eens even deze Topic vanonder het stof halen.
Niemand van het forum die kan/wil gaan rijden?

Edit: Ik zie dan Capitol al ingeschreven is! Gij zijt goe bezig! (Thumbs up) @Jokke: Neem uw Cup 300 maar eens mee en laat die instructeur maar eens rijden die gaat dat met plezier doen, wat je dan meemaakt, dat is nog heel veel indrukwekkender dan Nico's Spa Hotlaps.... (omdat Nico er niet zo veel ervaring heeft he). Dan is Spa opeens voor broekies...

PS Om nog even aan te tonen hoe fel RSR met Lotus bezig is en hoe diep Lotus wel met die kerels verwoven is, de mensen van RSR hebben een Lotus 2-11 staan met Ohlins testdempers en om de paar weken wordt die vering bijgestuurd door Lotus zelf op aanwijzen van de RSR piloten. Vandaag kwamen er weer 2 setjes Ohlins binnen op te testen door hun!! Enne de eigenaar (die de testpiloot is) is een ENORME Cup 260 fan... Als je die ziet rondrijden met de Cup 260.... rrrrrrrrrr Kiekevel krijg je daar van.,

Capitol en ik hebben vorig jaar al eens met die mannen van RSR mogen mee rijden om van de Exige te proeven. En dat was een toffe dag. Die instructeurs weten ook waar ze mee bezig zijn.
We hebben ons ingeschreven voor Lotus at the Ring.
Komt er nog iemand van het forum ?

Ik zou doodgraag komen, maar zit spijtig genoet met te veel werk

Laat ons zeggen dat die instructeurs behoorlijk snel gingen in hun "fast laps". Echt duwen achter Porsches GT3 enz.

We hebben daar in de lounge naar enkele rondes gezien van de Cup 260... niet te geloven. Als we Ron mogen geloven is de Cup 260 buiten categorie tov elke 240pk versie... Wie ben ik om dat tegen te spreken. Het gewicht doet veel en ook de Ohlins blijkbaar...

En wij hebben toen met de Exige S gereden (en ik vond al dat die mannen zo snel gingen), wat moet dat zijn met een CUP...
