The factory has just announced that after a very successful reintroduction and 5 year production run of the XI, they will be taking final orders up until
December 31, 2010 for component versions of the XI. Collection dates for the
kits will be in March, 2010, and no further orders for XIs will be taken.

Spare and replacement parts for the XI will remain available indefinitely
though ...

Met die voorgeschiedenis hoef ik zelfs niet te vragen achter de prijs.

Maar omdat ze zo mooi is, zal ik maar alle prentjes uploaden.

Maar ik zie toch duidelijk grote/kleine verschillen:
met Graham Hill aan het stuur nog geen vin achter het hoofdeinde en een totaal andere 'voorruit',
in de UK een paar jaar geleden wel een serieuze vin
en nu in D met zelfs een zachte padding erop bij wijze van hoofdsteun ...

1956 Lotus 11 ex Graham Hill For Sale (Yellow Peril - XJH 902) :

Since 1954 Graham Hill worked as a mechanic at Colin Chapman's company "Lotus", always looking for a chance to drive a racing car himself. Finally, in 1956 Chapman allowed him to build up his own racing car, which was exactly the Lotus 11 with VIN 208 which is offered here. Right from the start, the talented driver was successful, hoovering many victories with his yellow painted conspicuous car soon nicknamed "Yellow Peril" by the fascinated motoring press. In 1957, no. 208 was driven by Ian Walker, no less successful than his predecessor. And so the history of "Yellow Peril" continued, seeing many different drivers and owners, and fully documented down to the present day. Among the many references there are Graham Hill's own autobiography "Life at the Limit", various editions of the "Autosport" magazine during the fifties, confirmation letters written by Ian Walker, John Lambert, Ernie Unger etc., the documentation of the "Historic Lotus Register", and the detailed historic review about this car in the "Lotus Club Magazine" of spring 2009.

The Lotus is still badged with his original registration "XJH 902", indispensable for Graham Hill always approaching the race courses on own wheels. From 2002 - 2007, "Yellow Peril" has been restored in the UK by Mike Brotherwood, authentically, carefully and with a detailed photo documentation. Actually, the car is part of a German collection which is intended to be reduced. A Ford side-valve engine with the original Willment cylinder-head (inlet valves OHV) and two SU carburetors is fitted (1172 ccm, 86 hp), the original engine as well as some of the replaced original panels will come with the car.

Car has FIVA Identity Card, German registration and valid German M.O.T. ("TÜV"). Of course, all mentioned documentation records are included.

Foreign customers are welcome. Car is located in the Frankfurt/Main airport region. Shipping no problem.
