Ik heb het altijd vreemd gevonden dat ze nu ze veel ontwikkelingsgeld nodig hebben, ze zoveel geld in sponsoring steken.
Ok, de wagens moeten ook verkocht geraken, maar als je geen hebt is het ook niet interessant om ze aan te prijzen.

Self-employed builder Nicholas Foreman, who trades as J-Max Builders and Carpenters, has filed a joint claim against Lotus Cars Ltd and its chief executive Dany Bahar for £92,485, for work at Wychwood House on Norwich Road, in Hethersett.
Claims documents filed at the High Court of Justice in London reveal the action centres upon almost £375,000 worth of renovation work, paid for by the loss-making company, of a house rented by the chief executive.
Mr Foreman, whose company is listed as being based at St Andrew’s Business Park, in Thorpe, said he quoted for “substantial” building work valued at almost £375,000 before Mr Bahar was due to move in, which was paid for by cheque from a Lotus Cars Ltd bank account. However, two invoices for extra work, which was directly ordered by Mr Bahar to be completed as quickly as possible, have been left unpaid.
Mr Foreman said that when he approached Lotus Cars Ltd for payment he was told for the first time through solicitors of a potential dispute over workmanship.
The claim form said: “In early February 2012 the second defendant’s (Lotus Cars Ltd) solicitors delivered a CD containing 103 photographs which allegedly highlighted the defendant’s (Danny Bahar) complaints about the claimant’s (Mr Foreman) work.
“Of those photographs, 61 related to work carried out by contractors not connected to the claimant (Mr Foreman) and the remaining photographs show 25 minor snagging defects (such as in one case a single screw missing from a doorknob and in another a small dirty mark on a door), which the claimant (Mr Foreman) had expected to rectify on his planned return visit on 16 October 2011.
“This he had organised with the first defendant (Mr Bahar) precisely for the purpose of attending to any snagging issues, in accordance with common building practice.
“The claimant (Mr Foreman) estimates that the said snagging items would have taken no more than four man-days to attend to at a cost (to himself) of less than £1,000.”
Mr Foreman claims he was initially approached by Lotus Group employee Robert Hardingham to rectify “sub-standard” work by a previous builder on Mr Bahar’s previous home, which was paid for from a personal account.
The claim has been filed through solicitors Hansells, who served the papers on Lotus Cars Ltd and Dany Bahar in early March. Lotus and Mr Bahar must file a defence by the beginning of May.
Earlier this year the Malaysian government’s investment firm Khazanah Nasional sold its controlling stake in Proton to Malaysian car distributor and importer DRB-Hicom in a £276m dea.
This sparked speculation about the future of Group Lotus, and whether the new owners would sign up to the five-year turnaround for the loss making company to move from a specialist niche car company to a profitable sports car brand.
Lotus declined to comment.

HA de Motorsport sectie, waar jij per ongeluk het nieuws over pakweg de Indy car vergeet te posten? Zoals het feit dat de "Lotus" teams allemaal vanachter rondrijden? Bere slechte reclame in wat Bahar de belangrijkste markt noemde? Of het feit dat je vergeet te melden dat ze niet eens motoren kunnen leveren voor de testen van de Indy 500, de belangrijkste Indy car race van het jaar?

De negatieve reclame dat dit opwekt in de US... ik durf er echt niet aan te denken hoe erg dit is voor imago van Lotus aan de andere kant van de plas!
Het is stilaan tijd om wakker te worden, co-driver!

Volgens mij is 'stickers plakken' nog steeds geen motorsport activiteit...
Buiten de Evora die voor het tijdperk Bahar al bestond en de Lotus Exige R-GT die zeker eerste zal eindigen en daardoor als kampioen gekroond zal worden... (Lotus is enigste constructeur in de Rally GT Category in de ERC)
is er dus geen toegevoegde waarde van Lotus Group in bovenstaande motorsport activiteiten !
Zeggen dat Lotus dus meedoet in alle motorsport categorieën is dus onzin !

Lotus revival 'under serious threat'

Group Lotus has failed to deny increasingly strong rumours that its comprehensive five-year product revival plan could be under serious threat.
The new owner of its Malaysian-based parent company, Proton, is believed to be eyeing strategies that could lead the Hethel sports car company into administration as a way of freeing it from around £200 million worth of accumulated debts.
Proton was recently bought by Malaysian-based DRB-Hicom, whose management is understood not to share Proton’s view of Lotus as a prized asset to be retained and developed. At the time of that acquisition Lotus CEO Dany Bahar told Autocar that the sports car company, which had been spending pre-arranged loan funds to create an all-new model range, would have to switch to conserving cash until a 60-day transitional phase, required under Malaysian law, had passed.
The phase ended weeks ago but Lotus is believed still to be in financial limbo and this week Bahar is “on leave”.
Rumours circulated by the well-known F1 reporter Joe Saward, among others, suggest Proton’s new owner could be shaping up to sell the assets of the sports car company to China Youngman, Lotus’s importer in China since 2006, and a company which already makes its own “Engineered by Lotus” cars for sale in the region using Proton running gear.
Youngman, which has long recognised the value of established European brands in emerging markets, was a bidder for Saab after the Swedish company’s collapse last year. Talks with other Chinese car companies are also rumoured to have taken place.
Concern over Lotus’s problems accelerated late last week when the Lotus F1 team (formerly Lotus-Renault) terminated a sponsorship agreement with Group Lotus but disclosed that it had struck a five-year deal with Lotus’s owners to continue using the famous name. This fed speculation that the F1 team’s owner, the private investment group Genii, might soon become a bidder for the car company, but its principal Gerard Lopez has so far been tight-lipped on the idea.
Financial pundits consulted by Autocar say a new owner would be reluctant to take the company on as a going concern with current debts estimated at £200 million.
